Our Origin Story

In 2016, one of our founders worked as both a teacher and owner of a small tutoring business in Washington, DC. Through his work as a tutor, he started to take stock on families’ needs at home. He quickly noticed that families who need tutors usually outsourced other services; but this process often became complicated as they used separate platforms to do so. Almost every family he worked with sought similar types of services, scrambling to keep everything organized when the help was meant to free up more of their time. 

An idea hit him: he called in his network of local experts in housekeeping, childcare, project management, teaching, and lawn/garden services to build a team of people who could provide quality services to people at home. With this superhero team of professionals, Handled. was born.
